Media release
AEC industry software developerΒ Total SynergyΒ hasΒ announcedΒ an integration betweenΒ itsΒ cloud software,Β Synergy, andΒ Microsoft SharePoint. Its aim is toΒ improve remote and work-from-home conditions for architectural, engineering, andΒ construction designΒ (AEC)Β companiesΒ with aΒ uniqueΒ cloud-to-cloud document control solution.Β The company is offering theΒ app connection free until 2021.
TheΒ SharePoint document control connected appΒ enablesΒ Synergy users to automatically replicate Synergy projectΒ foldersΒ in SharePoint, transfer filesΒ created in SynergyΒ to SharePoint,Β manage version control and alert users toΒ changesΒ or new documents added to the SharePoint folder.
Total SynergyΒ product manager Paul HemmingsΒ said theΒ timing of this releaseΒ was about meeting current remote work challengesΒ faced by AEC businesses in the Covid-19Β crisis.
“We accelerated this project β which was slated for next year βΒ because we understand thatΒ built environment businessesΒ need better cloud tools to continueΒ doingΒ their work wherever they find themselves,β Mr Hemmings said.
βA lot of suppliers have looked at how they can make immediate changes to help their customers in a time of need. Fortunately, developing agile cloud software enables us to respond and roll-out updates to every customer simultaneously very quickly.β
Hemmings said the integration is designed with simplicity and ease of use as priorities. Total Synergyβs own use of SharePoint informed theΒ project.
βSharePoint is excellent for document collaboration β we use it ourselves,β he said.
βWe believe thatΒ connecting the best appsΒ to the best project delivery platformΒ enablesΒ built environment design businesses toΒ getΒ more doneΒ by choosingΒ the right toolsΒ for the job. As a subscription offering, whereΒ customers areΒ not lockedΒ intoΒ long term agreements, itβs a solutionΒ that matches theΒ fluidΒ needs of businesses in thisΒ challengingΒ environment.β
DespiteΒ bringing this project forward toΒ respond to customers’ remote work needs, Mr Hemmings said this was notΒ the end of the project.
βWe have our sights set on building a completely rounded, cloudΒ project information management system on the Synergy platformΒ β this was just the first step.β
Total Synergy has built project management software for the AEC sector since 1999. They serve over 16,000 built environment businessesΒ across five continents.
