Total Synergy has joined forces with Monograph, bringing Monograph and Total Synergy together under one company. We sat down with Daniel Cran, Chief Operating Officer at Total Synergy, to dive into what this means for your firm, your data and the product you rely on every day.ย
The short version: this move is about building a stronger, more capable global business dedicated to architecture and engineering. The Total Synergy customer experience wonโt change, and neither will our commitment to continuing to build a better product.ย
Why Are Total Synergy and Monograph Coming Together?
Daniel Cran: The opportunity was to bring together three businesses with very complementary strengths around one clear focus: architecture and engineering. Total Synergy brings 25+ years of industry experience and international scale, particularly across ANZ and the UK. Monograph brings a modern platform and strong US presence.
You may also notice a small change alongside the Total Synergy logo: a new byline reading “Total Synergy, a Monograph company.” It reflects the two brands, not a rebrand.
Monograph has built a strong brand in the US, while Total Synergy has a strong and trusted brand across ANZ and an established presence in the UK. The intention is to build on both of those strengths rather than move away from either.
Why Now?
DC: The timing of this move makes sense because the A&E industry is changing quickly, and we believe there is a real opportunity to build a genuinely global technology company dedicated specifically to this sector.
Bringing the three businesses together means we have greater scale, more product and engineering capability and the ability to invest faster in areas like AI, automation and data.
Will Anything Change for Total Synergy Customers?
DC: For customers across ANZ and the UK, it’s very much business as usual. Youโll continue using the same platform and working with the same teams, and your contracts, workflows and support channels stay the same.
Importantly, weโre continuing to invest in Total Synergy. The combination actually gives us access to greater resources, capability and shared innovation over time. Our priority through the transition is simple: maintain the relationships and service our customers expect while using the increased scale of the combined business to make the product and customer experience even stronger.
How Does This Change Total Synergy’s Position in the Market?
DC: This partnership changes the scale of what we can do on a global scale. Rather than being a strong regional player competing in individual markets, we now have a much broader global footprint, thousands of A&E firms across our platforms, deeper product capability and significantly greater investment capacity.
Australia, New Zealand and the UK remain core markets for Total Synergy, and that doesnโt change. Supporting A&E firms in these markets and around the world, whether they already use the Total Synergy platform or are considering it, remains a key priority for us. What does change is our scale. Very few software businesses have this combination of A&E specialisation, geographic reach and the ability to serve firms across different sizes and levels of complexity. That gives us a much stronger platform from which to compete globally and, more importantly, to keep raising the standard of what A&E firms should expect from their technology.
What Does Success Look Like From Here?
DC: Success is becoming the global standard for how architecture and engineering firms run their businesses, and earning that position through the products and customer experience we deliver, not simply through scale. That means continuing to grow globally, accelerating innovation across AI, automation and data, and ultimately giving A&E firms better visibility and less administration so they can run more profitable businesses.
Questions About Your Account?
For existing Total Synergy customers, the message to take away is very simple: we’re still here, we’re still investing in Total Synergy, and we now have significantly more capability to make the platform better.
