Over the last six years, Hansen Engineering Group has grown from a one-person operation into a multi-person consultancy. The Mitchell River Bridge is a 460-metre crossing on Dunbar Koolatah Road, delivering a reliable, all-weather link between Cape York and the Gulf for Carpentaria Shire Council.

Hansen Engineering Group provided full design services, addressing challenges including scour-prone soils, high flood levels, and remote site conditions. The bridge features pre-stressed concrete deck units on steel piles, designed to meet TMR and AS5100 standards. Hansen Engineering Group also provided construction support ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
