Our Onboarding Consultants help you optimise your use of Synergy by analysing your business and tailoring the product to fit your needs and specific internal processes, workflows, and terminology. They will show you how to access relevant data on demand with industry best-practice insights in creating reports and templates. They are also ready to train your staff and equip your team with the skills to navigate Synergy.
Having a good project team is crucial for successful onboarding. At Synergy, we recommend that you have at least two people attend all sessions, to improve the clarity of information delivery. Within this internal project team, we suggest to include:

We recommend you read the following articles before you start your onboarding, as they will help you understand the context and terminology of the Synergy platform.
We recommend completing your onboarding within 45 days for best results. This allows adequate time to complete to-do tasks after each session while maintaining momentum.
Your Consultant will help you onboard in a series of consulting sessions delivered via Microsoft Teams. In these sessions, you will learn how to use the platform, how to adjust the settings, and how to upload your existing data.
You will have some tasks to do before each session based on what you have learnt, including sorting and uploading your existing organisation data. Please allow enough time between each session to finish the “To-Dos” so your consultant can check the data before its entered into your real organisation.
The time needed to enter your data will depend largely on the complexity and amount of data plus the number of internal resources allocated to this process.
The onboarding plan is divided into 12 sessions which cover what you will be learning and your tasks between Sessions.

This is an introductory Session between your Internal Project Team and our Implementation Team. In this Session, we will collect all essential information to customise our consulting services for your organisation.

In this Session, we will show you how to import projects, enter project details and customise project settings.

Prepare to bring in all project header records.
Enter your Projects using the Synergy Projects Upload Sheet.
In this Session, we will discuss cost centres and disciplines and you will learn how to upload and import your Project Financials.

Enter your Project Financials using the Synergy Project Financials Upload Sheet.
In this Session, we will introduce you to Planning Mode, the Work Breakdown, Stage and Task Creation, Budgets, and Fee Proposals. If you are on the Enterprise plan, we will introduce the Schedule feature and talk about Stage Dependencies, Milestones, and To-Dos.

In this Session, we will introduce Delivery Mode, discuss entry of costs into Synergy, and show you how to build timesheet settings and project templates.

In this Session we will discuss Project Navigation (budget vs. Actuals) and introduce you to Invoicing.

In this Session we will review any remaining upload spreadsheets and Project Templates, discuss Reporting and connect to any storage or accounting add-ons such as SynergyPIM, Xero, MYOB, Wiise, Sage 50 and Business Central. We will also demonstrate the creation and editing of document templates.

In this Session we will cover what is included in both User and Project Manager training, remove modules from the default training list and request any specific requirements for your business.
This Session is important for ALL users and will cover basic training of the Synergy platform including:

This Training Session is recommended for users that will be assigned the Project Manager role in Synergy and will cover:
We recommend a maximum of 15 attendees for this Session. If you have more than 15 users, please book multiple Project Manager Training Sessions.
This Session should be scheduled just before your official Go-Live date to provide an opportunity for you to ask your Consultant any final questions regarding upload spreadsheets, configuration and invoicing processes in Synergy. This is the final Session of Implementation before your organisation is considered “Live” in Synergy.

Depending on your plan, you may have a dedicated Customer Success Manager who will work with you closely during your onboarding and beyond, to make sure you get the best out of Synergy. Their role is to help ensure a smooth transition of Synergy into your business, optimise your usage of the platform, and be your contact point for any questions, requests or concerns you may have. There will be periodic Success Reviews to ensure that Synergy meets your needs and expectations.
